VERDICT

The game has many customisation options and is very enjoyable, at least for the time being. Nonetheless optimisation is great.

Eye-candy fantasy graphics. Used to have customisable skins, like you could put hat from one set to body from another set. And that was amazing. Then the game took U-turn and everything became shallow. Champions are hardly recognisable from each other - which is crucial on the battlefield. Gameplay mechanics lost their variability, skins became PG-18 and iconic moderators left. Well I got carried away a bit there. Also the interface suffered setback IMHO, so the rating is pretty low.

As said before, the game had deeper mechanics. Nonetheless, game are fast, tactics are variable, game is highly repayable. The problem with many champions is, it's hard to make them distinguishable and so is this case. Abilities copy other abilities, new champions are more like a mix of old ones than built from ground up. The game features Training modes, Shooting range, casual and ranked matches, push the payload (Siege) is the main mode. Kind of more fast paced mode is Onslaught, where each team has pool of points that decreases with each kill or when you are not capturing designated point. Yeah, teams are 5v5. Ranked games can be pretty intense, that is, if you find team players. For "quick" communication with team, there is shortcut system, so for example you press "VQ" to send "Attack the Objective!" or "Contest the Objective!" based on context. That is neat.

I don't really know what is the story about. Some time ago there was a story telling event, but I haven't really understood it. So you don't get any higher principle to fight for, but fortunately there is no need for it, since the game is fun to play anyway.

I play it on my 2013 laptop (RAM 8 GB, NVIDIA 740M, INTEL 2.2 GHz core i7 3rd generation ). And before 2020 I managed to set some settings to 2nd highest option 😁 . I guess that pretty much sums up the optimisation part.
